Aiao and you:

Information on how to apply and submit an application is at the bottom of this post. Please read this post before submitting an application to make sure we are the type of guild you are looking for and to give yourself knowledge of our rules to make it past the application process.

Recruitment:
Currently closed.

However, do not hesitate to apply even if we have several of a particular class or are not currently looking, ultimately the best applicants will be raiding with our guild.

Do not apply if:
You cannot make the time commitment for future progression content.
You plan on quitting or if you know you will have to take a break from the game soon.
You cannot make the time commitment to raid with 75% or greater attendance.
You have little to no heroic raiding experience.

All posts in the application section are public, meaning everyone can view your application.

What we're looking for:
We at Aiao are only looking for long term members. Aiao is not going anywhere, we want members that will be part of our raiding core that will still be with us for the long haul. Everyone that joins will be an active raider, you will be given a chance to make yourself stand out and earn your raid spot. Understand that we will do whatever is necessary to make the encounter we're doing as easy as possible, swapping players/classes etc. Despite that, everyone will see raid time.

Our guild as a whole are all understanding people, we know people have bad raid nights. One night of mishaps doesn't mean we will remove you. When you join our guild we will treat you as an equal and will continue to do so throughout your trial period until you show us that you are not fit for our guild, which we hope won't be the case.

If you're worthless, we'll tell you. There's a huge difference between making a mistake and just not giving it anywhere near your best. In short, raiding is a constant learning-process, and everyone will be happy to help you out as best they can, provided you want to learn and desire to be the best you can be. If you're a downright moron that can't take advice, or if you're just plain useless, expect to be treated as such.

Aiao's atmosphere:
Maintaining a solid team atmosphere is very crucial to us, we like to socialize during, before and after raids - even during off days. Aiao members all know one another, we do not consist of a bunch of cliques, instead the entire guild is a whole - no one is left out. Regardless of our close-knit atmosphere we have no problem welcoming newer members to our guild and making them feel like they are part of the team. Learn to take advantage of that when you are accepted into the guild.
Everyone in the guild will eventually see raid time whether it is progression or farm.

Raid schedule and attendance:
Aiao raid invites always start at 7:30pm CET with raid start at 7:45pm. We will raid 4 days a week. After progression is complete we sometimes raid less days a week, however this is completely at the raid leader’s discretion.

The following is our schedule, it is possible that raids will be extended if we know we can get a boss down.

Wednesday/Thursday and Sunday/Monday: 7:30pm - 11:30pm CET (the other nights are off days, usually alt runs occur within guild)

*All our members need to let us know in advance if they cannot attend a raid via forum post within the appropriate section/day.

Loot system:
Aiao awards all loot via loot council. We distribute loot based on many factors, including raid attendance, seniority (how long you've been in the guild), and previous loot received. There are also other factors, but they are not listed here because they often change.

Our goal is to put the loot where it will best serve the guild from a raid progression standpoint, we do not punish members for taking items that are not their best in slot but still a fairly decent upgrade. We place a high value on loyalty and attendance, and tend to award the best items to individuals that have proven themselves to be trustworthy and reliable.

Our expectations:
We expect all applicants to be able to maintain close to 75% attendance during their trial period. We expect all members to maintain 75% attendance. We also do not like having to go through the trouble of having to do extra things just to reach you, you do not have that privilege as an applicant. You need to be reachable especially if you are sitting out, however that shouldn't mean we need to go out of our way to get you in the raid.

We understand there are situations when people can't raid, that is completely understandable. If we expected everyone to be here 100% of the time we would only have 25 people in the guild. You can miss raids, it just can't be happening so much that it's noticeable.

We want you to want to be in our raids, and we will invest in you as much as you invest into us. As a guild, Aiao strives to be the best. If you are coming in for a boss and you are confused with the way we execute it you are better off asking questions than going into a fight not knowing what to do.

Being a good player and learning to get to know the guild beyond the raids, trying to know the guild as a whole whether it's pvping, talking on vent, doing something in game, playing another game - anything. We are very big on guild community.

What happens after you apply:
Remember we cannot always respond quickly to your application even if it is very good. It depends on how much we are currently raiding or if we are discussing other potential applicants. It can be a few days or even a week to get a reply on your application, so do not be discouraged if you have not received any responses. Interest level is also a factor.

If we like your application we might schedule a time to get you on our ventrilo for an interview. We only do this to get to know the applicant and give the applicant time to ask the guild about anything before asking them to transfer.

Apply using our application form. Please copy the application template and create a new thread then fill it out, post when you are finished. Make it your priority to check your thread at least once a day to respond to any questions we may have.

BTW if any of you have fps issues (beta was working muuuuuuuuch better than live) especially on ATI cards force AA (Anti Aliasing) to atleast x8 (forced to 16 here) turn off shadows (seems to cause problems especially inside buildings) and texture filtering on low. I get 60 fps all times (over 100 with vsync off) thanks to this with HD5570 with everything else on high/maxed. I tested alot of things this night and this gave me the best results (I have no fucking idea how AA increases fps - and the game looks even better with it forced).

Also there is quiet serious memory leak in the game since beta, game will occasionaly dip to like 10 fps for a moment. Nothing you can do about it, BioWare better move their butts and fix it.

Also, if you didn't change your graphics settings at all since you started playing, set em all on high (yes, all) then switch back to your desired settings. Recommended settings are kinda buggered and give you much lower fps than they should if you won't make any changes.

That's all. Let's hope BioWare will patch the game very fast to address stability issues so we can enjoy SWTOR as its meant to be enjoyed
